At the Brooklyn Museum, until July 8th, there is an exhibition of Keith Haring’s work from 1978-1982. This is the first large-scale exhibition of Keith Haring’s art. It features his iconic work, starting from the time he moved to New York. Haring was a social activist and his work reflects that. (Note: Some of his work may not be suitable to younger audiences. Therefore, the pictures I will show may not be suitable for younger audiences.) On February 16, 1990, he died of AIDS-related complications. But his legacy lives on.
I thought the exhibit was terrific. Haring’s art is fascinating. And there’s a cool interactive part at the end of the exhibit: you can draw on tablets. After you do that, you can brag to your friends that your art is displaying at the Brooklyn Museum. That is, until someone erases your work and draws over it. Haha. Anyways, I highly recommend that you go see the Keith Haring show if you’re in New York. After all, he is one of the best-known twentieth-century American artists.
