Preparing for Tech Day Check-In

Please bring a laptop to the meeting to show what you’ve accomplished so far, and any specific issues that need troubleshooting. This meeting’s agenda will be set by your group’s needs including but not limited to getting feedback, receiving help with web development or any WordPress issues, getting clarification about copyright or fair use, etc. Our meeting will be most effective if your group has an idea of the end result including the types of content you’ll add to the site (mp3 or audio files, maps, images, social media streams, etc), design/formatting, and functionality. It would be extremely helpful if your group brought examples of what you’d like the final version of your site to look like and/or how it will function; this can include drawings, outlines, links to other sites, etc.

As part of your prep for the presentation part of the project, I may ask questions about, for example, how you will present this website to the class, how your site reflects what what you’ve learned and how it relates to the broader course topics, etc. This is to get your guys thinking beyond the web project in order to consider how your web project relates to the broader objectives of the assignment and Seminar 2.
