The picture that resonated with me in the exhibit is Hugh Steers “Bath Curtain” part of the care taking portion of the exhibit. The picture depicts a man sitting in the tub who smilingly was diagnosed with AIDS while his – soon to assume male – companion was taking care of him and giving him a bath. This heavily resonated with me because it looked like a similar scenario that I have witness in my household many times. My grandmother is in constant need of care taking and has a aid to help her do daily chores. It affected me because it shows how limited people are able to move when diagnosed with a long term disease. Especially during that time when people who were diagnosed with AIDS, they were looked down upon by society and it was hard to find a place to live due to the judgmental people in society.
