The thing that struck me the most was technically not a piece but it kept my attention while walking around because I felt it tied together many of the pieces featured in the exhibit. Though it says “eat me, drink me, take tea with me” I originally read it as “eat with me, drink with me, take tea with me.” I felt this tied many pieces together as well as how many people with HIV/AIDS felt because with the stigma around having this ailment many did not want to interact with them for fear of contracting it and all they really wanted was for someone to be their friend or to love them for who they are. As for the pieces it brought together, many of them were featured at the start of the exhibit, such as the painting of the man caring for his partner when he was too weak to care for himself.
