Smell the Roses

I chose the film “Smell the Roses,” mainly because of how relevant it is to our lives. We get so caught up in technology and social media that we cut ourselves off from reality. This film portrays this idea strikingly, through its use of the character and the “virtual” pop ups. It also uses silence, dim lighting, and repetition of certain scenes (going up and down the stairs) to drive the idea home. I also liked the change in music once he “smelled the roses.” Overall, the two high school students who created this film did an excellent job in getting their message across.
