I found this video on YouTube called “Departure,” and it was made by students in the NY Film Academy. It caught my eye because of the attention to emotions and past events that shaped the characters who we only see for no more than a few minutes. We see that they had a relationship, the journey of almost moving away and the sadness behind it, as well as the emotions that made the female act by staying with her true love instead. I love the irony behind this title – it’s anything but a departure!
