The Beat-Up Converse

The original Converse shoe made its debut in the 1920s with the original intention of being used as basketball sneakers. These canvas rubber-soled shoes were named “All-Stars’ to coincide with their intended use. While, the name has remained the same all these, the intention has definitely changed. People no longer wore them just to sink jump shots on the basketball court, but to perform, to make art, to skate, to incorporate them their own personal style. Converse today have become a staple in the wardrobe of many, myself included. I have had mine for about two years and I’m honestly quite surprised at how well they’ve held up. As a self-proclaimed shoe hoarder, these sneakers are one of my favorite. They’re are comfortable and go with just about everything i own. The best part is the more beat-up they become, the more stories they have to tell. Like the blue stain from when my test tube broke in chemistry, or the paint stain i got while repainting my room.
