Many pieces from the fashion exhibit at MOMA were very detailed, but I did find this red sweatshirt, the brand of which (Champion) is commonly used for exercise:

I chose this item because it looks just like a Lifeguard sweatshirt that a friend got for me on vacation:

This sweatshirt reveals the labor aspect of fashion and how we represent things that, for the most part, we aren’t; I once wore another one of my Lifeguard sweatshirts that I got from Florida, and someone asked me if I really was a lifeguard, and it kind of made me wonder why I was wearing it; it really just looks cool. This also reminds me of how many other things that once had other purposes or reasons for existing are becoming trends, like ripped jeans.
