This piece, Medication List Artwork, by T De Long was found taped inside the kitchen cabinet of his partner’s apartment. I was able to connect my own personal experience to this piece. I had visited my grandmother this past summer in the Philippines since she was feeling unwell and I was able to see first hand the various medications she had to take. This piece reminded me of when I would ready her medications that she had to take in the morning. It was easy to mix up similar looking medications so I was able to relate to how this task required carefulness and focus. This piece depicts the love and dedication many caretakers had for those who they cared for. What I found fascinating was that I learned that De Long and his partner, Dzubilo, collaborated on visual art and music projects, particularly an HIV prevention song called “No Glove, No Love.”
