September 27th, 2011 High Line Visit

I for one, am incredibly happy I was able to be in this MHC class, if only so that I could go on this field trip. I am absolutely certain that I never would have learned what the High Line was if it was not for this class and Professor Meyers-Kingsley.

There are numerous gorgeous views on the High Line, it is immensely modern artistically and it is simply a great place to visit and stroll along on. I especially loved all the prime street art that was placed at vantage points. It was a great deal of fun to simply go about trying to find as much as i possible could. There is this sense of adventure when discovering a bit of street art/graffiti, especially so if it is obscure and hard to find.

  1. Prof. M-K says:

I like how your photos read like a kind of photo essay. Do you have a favorite image from the trip?

  2. My favorite two photos from the trip (>.< i couldn't choose only one) are the first photo of graffiti that I took and my last photo of the plants growing on the top of a building. I especially like the first photo of graffiti I took because I was not expecting this trip to become a street art exhibition. So as the first discovery it has become my favorite in this case. Its interesting that you mention this photo essay quality about my photos, since that is the way in which I nearly always try and take photos, though I've never had a name to give the way in which I take photos before. I feel that this is the best way to record an experience from beginning to end so that I can look back on it in the future and re-live the moment.
