To post something, click “Dashboard” on the top toolbar. This is like the backstage of e-portfolios. You can add new posts, edit your old posts, edit your profiles, … etc.
Let’s start with adding a new post!
Type in an appropriate title and contents. Use the rich text edit toolbar accordingly. Unless you are familiar with HTML, be sure you are under the default “Visual” tab.
Categories:
This is very important: you have to select appropriate categories, otherwise your post won’t show up in the right places. For weekly blog assignment, there are already defined categories for you to choose from. Be sure to check both the main category (Blog) and the week it belongs (number and topic correspond to the syllabus.)
Tags:
You can also tag your post. Tags are somewhat different from categories in concept. While each post usually belongs to only one category (and its subcategories if any), it can have multiple tags. Think tags as keywords that would give your readers a hint, and even give yourself a reminder of what this post is about.
Save Draft, Preview, and Publish
After you’re finished, you can preview the post to make sure it looks like what you want. If you aren’t done yet, you can save as draft. Otherwise, be sure to click on the “Publish” button.
