ePortfolio and the First Year Seminar at LaGuardia
LaGuardia’s nationally-renowned ePortfolio initiative is poised to break new ground. Long a critical site for innovative pedagogy and, more recently, a robust assessment practice, ePortfolio is now a centerpiece of a new major-based First-Year Seminar. The FYS portfolio is a digital site for students to integrate learning inside and outside the classroom, including exploration of disciplinary knowledge, clarification of goals and educational planning, and co-curricular activity. As the seminar is brought to scale over the next 1-2 years, its impact, amplified by ePortfolio practice, will extend across academic programs, advisement, and student life.
