The Meaning of It All

So, as is usual with my work, I have created more questions than I have answered.

What are we to do by means of art?

1. We could examine the very basics of it, we could answer what is art with ideas such as point, line, etc. In other words we can deconstruct it. But that is the very pinnacle of art for arts sake.
2. We could construct things, we could do commentary. That is something that I believe in personally, that all mediums of art should be used to shed light, to bring to out attention things that we need to see but are not yet aware of.
3. We could make ourselves happy and create entertainment. I would say that if we add some real life to it we can make useful entertainment.

I just hope that this was not too much of a boring read.
