“Brooklyn College Ranks Among The Top 322 Green Colleges in the United States.” CUNY Newswire. 22 May 2012. Web. 14 October 2012.
Unfortunately, the author of this article was not given on the website. The author first reports of the inclusion of Brooklyn College on the Pricenton Review’s list of top 322 green colleges in the U.S, and then goes on to give examples of why it was put on the list. The online newspaper is on the CUNY website. Therefore, the author’s intended audience is probably CUNY faculty, students, and alumni. The beginning of the article was objective reporting on the Priceton Review’s list. However, when the author began to give specific examples of why Brooklyn College is “green,” some bias was revealed as it came off as boastful. The article is informative, but it’s weakness comes in the author’s noticeable partiality for Brooklyn College. We have not worked out our thesis yet, but I imagine that the findings of our research project will either confirm or refute Brooklyn College’s placement on the Princeton Review’s list.
What are some of the reasons it was listed? Be sure to use subject tags for later sorting.
