Signature Sesame Chicken

Buffet Style

Mei Wei Kitchen—looks and sounds like your typical Chinese fast food restaurant on the outside, but behind those doors isn’t what you would normally expect. When you open those doors, you can feel the difference in temperature from the outside and the inside of the restaurant: hot steam and the aroma of sesame chicken engulfs your whole body. It’s like being in a Jacuzzi of Chinese food!

It’s a buffet-style restaurant: the foods are out and open to the public. However, a buffet is usually associated with a large restaurant; on the other hand, Mei Wei Kitchen only has ten tables (each table seats two people), has less than twenty food selections to choose from, and to top it off it’s slightly larger than an standard classroom. Despite all that, the restaurant does really well where most, if not all, of the tables in the restaurant are jam-packed, especially from 12 P.M. and onwards (more or less the whole day). For less than five dollars, one could satisfy their appetite. Like several other restaurants in the neighborhood, there’s this idea of fusion incorporated into Mei Wei Kitchen — asides from “Americanized” Chinese food, Mei Wei Kitchen also offers “American” food such as french fries.
