“Under promise and Over deliver”

This past week has been a whirlwind of weather, literally. From snow and 25 degree weather, to sunshine and 55 degrees the next day, I couldn’t help but realize that this “was” phenomenon, is now the norm of our society. This photo is a 180 degree contrast from the photo I posted last week on a rainy day. As time progresses, our winters are warmer, our summers are colder. Not only that, there are times where our winters are hitting records for freezing temperatures, while our summers contain heat waves that are groundbreaking. With all this sporadic weather, it makes one think of why, how, and what caused this inconsistency in our daily lives. Rising above other factors, is climate change.

In the last class, we were discussing sustainability, alternatives, one of the LWT presentations covered our subway system. Another covered Amazon and their decision to not build in NYC, and those impacts. While climate change is developing, I believe that we often undermine how much technology is increasing. One of our classmates mentioned how it is not “affordable” to be healthy, to make environmentally friendly decisions. That fact ties into our corporate/political world that runs our country. Those in influence, power, keynote positions have a big hand in environmental decisions and that’s a thought that I believe should be pondered for the future. What can we as millennial’s do to develop, be in a position of authority, create a new trend, one that is beneficial to our environment? Whether it be emerging technology, CSR initiatives within major organizations and companies, or simply living day-to-day in order to slow down the rapid effects of climate change. We are the future of this world, don’t you think it’s about time we acknowledge what’s happening and take action to mitigate going forward? The answer is a yes from me.
