In Depth With Diana

Hello Fellow Classmates!

My name is Diana Laura Ordoñez Perez (it is quite a mouth full) and this is my first time ever writing in a blog so therefore this is quite a new but intriguing quest for myself. In terms of conventional art I do in fact enjoy photography and reading, I can honestly read for days given the choice (some of my favorite books include Hamlet, Macbeth, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Kite Runner, Pride and Prejudice and as of now Dante’s Inferno). I of course also enjoy the occasional tv show series, including Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Breaking Bad, and Game of Thrones just to name a few. I love soccer, both watching it and playing it (though I do not play well), and I am passionate about science! In fact I consider science an art in itself because just as artist who paint or draw or sculpt must dedicate much time and energy to create a masterpiece and something that they are proud to share with the world, scientist must also dedicate their life to study and understand the world around us so that we can share our findings to improve the world and showcase its beauty! In fact for an art project my concentration was THE ART OF SCIENCE where through photography I was able to capture and convey the beauty of science using scientific properties such as magnetism, electricity and the chemical properties of compounds through the setup of common scientific experiments. By the way I also love chemistry jokes.

After reading through the syllabus I was intrigued most and very much looking forward to the Peoples Climate March and everything regarding climate change especially the books!
