Can We Stop?

I had to watch “One Planet, One Chance”  four times before being able to write this blog. There were so many chilling images in the video that I wasn’t even sure where to begin. The one thing that caught my attention in the video was the quote “We don’t have a problem. We can stop anytime we want. Just not today.” So many thoughts and questions popped into my mind as I read this quote . Our society is very fortunate to have so many luxuries and comforts so readily available to us. But is everyone truly capable of sacrificing all of these luxuries that our society has grown so accustomed to? Can our society maintain its current standard of living with alternate forms of energy? How much is our technology dependent society really willing to give up for the sake of the planet? And if our society is capable of changing its ways, will that actually be enough to reverse the change in climate?
