A Call From McKibben

When reading “A Call to Arms”,I noticed a few differences between this article “What the World Needs is Art, Sweet Art”. To me, McKibben’s tone was much more urgent than his last article. The purpose of his last article was to bring awareness and inspire creative action, whereas this articles was mostly geared towards rallying support for his position on climate change. Even though I am for using cleaner forms of energy and being kinder to the planet, I feel like I have so much more to learn about the issue before committing to it 100%. McKibben presents a lot of information on the topic in both of his articles, but I feel like there is a lot more to the issue than just transitioning off fossil fuels. The article presents some optimistic predictions on renewable energy, but we can never really be sure if those predictions are true until everything is put into practice.
