Living Leisurely?

It’s really scary to see all the ways climate change not only impacts the earth, but how it directly impacts the lives of people. This video really takes an emotional stance on global warming. After watching this video I couldn’t help but feel chills running through me. My initial response to the whole thing was “WOAH” It was unbelievably horrifying to watch. Not only does it make me realize the effect climate change has on others globally, it uses images to get the point across. One image that really shocked me was the one where a young boy is standing  amidst a yard of trash.

This picture is truly terrifying because there is no escape from the destruction. There is so much pollution it is unimaginable. Just seeing a boy so little lost in all that garbage is very morse. His face is one of confusion, and hopelessness.  I just want to get him out of there. I can’t imagine how much more garbage lies beyond the photo, and over the hills. Seeing this makes me angry as well. I want to help and figure out a solution. The fact that innocent people have to suffer, and live difficult lives just because certain nations want to live leisurely and are unable to give up certain activities is truly upsetting. Seeing this video, and really examining this photo in particular makes me realize that there is a need for change. How can we continue to live our lives, not even grateful for clean streets when there are people, children even, who may not even know what that looks like. This picture forces me to reevaluate the things I take for granted, and makes me even more excited to attend the peoples climate march. Educating myself, and becoming aware of the climate change issue makes me even more dedicated to the cause!
