Slowly Awakening
Besides adding to the already present anxiety of the effects of global warming, Squarzoni is slowly opening my eyes to the details of climate change. I have been hearing about the negative effects of CO2 as far as I remember. But after reading section II, I am in awe of how the planet works. I am it an awe of how sensitive it is to change. When Sqaurzoni explains the periods of warming periods and glacial periods, I could feel new neurons being connected in my brain because that explains many things. I am enjoying the amount of information I am learning about the climate change along with Sqaurzoni.
On page 51, the drawing grabbed my attention because it looked really familiar. After looking at it for a while, I noticed it is one those ubiquitous pictures of Earth that are taken from space. It made me wonder about an idea presented in one of the videos we watched in class. The Earth Neil Armstrong viewed 45 years ago, is not the same as today. I wonder if he were to go back on the moon again, would he noticed the changes created. This also makes me wonder how it would look in the next 20 years.
The science behind climate change and learning how the world works is not only interesting, but slowly eye-opening. I am being awakened along with my peers to be more conscious and alert to help our planet.
