The March goes on…..

Walking down the streets of New York may be slow, but it was truly worth every minute. Shouting out chants from one side of the block and carrying it to the other displayed our promotion and dedication to raise awareness for climate change. The walk might have been tediously long, but the experience was definitely worth while. I particularly enjoyed seeing everyone else’s posters and seeing the diverse groups of people in the march. The fact that organizations like the Physicians for Social Response (a medical group) and even a Hindu religious group were out, made me realize how huge and significant the issue of climate change is. Even after the march, I scrolled down my Facebook newsfeed only to find old classmates and friends posting away pictures of the march with their own signs. It made me very content to be a part of the march because if I was not currently enrolled in our Arts in New York seminar course, I would probably associate the People’s Climate March with some kind of scientific global warming funding organization. All in all, I’m really glad I got to participate in the Peoples Climate March, especially with the Macaulay Lehman ’18 family, because it was an eye opening experience that by no means will I forget. This is definitely not the end of the march, it will never be the end, until we find a solution to prevent climate change.10675626_1472355619713701_1415351967400520764_n10259737_1472190993063497_9012313885803605920_n
