Iceberg between Paulet Islands & the Shetland Islands

Visiting Salgado’s Genesis exhibition was like visiting all of the continents of the world. His photographs were so great at fully pulling me into the moment. All of the images in Salgado’s exhibit were amazing, but the image of the iceberg was definitely my favorite. At first glance, I thought the iceberg looked as if it had been crafted by a sculptor and almost seemed too beautiful to come from nature. But as I took a deeper look into photo, my thinking completely changed. I realized that nature is home to the best pieces of art on the planet. Salgado’s photography shows that God, Mother Nature, or whatever Higher Power you may believe in is truly the best artist. But most importantly, his work shows how crucial it is for us to preserve the works of art that surround us.
