A correct and skewed view

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Earth?

Round?

The third planet from the sun?

Inhabited by destructive life-forms?

Dying?

The picture above is the most popular image of the Earth, and “ninety-nine times out of a hundred, when we see a photo of Earth, it’s this one.” According to the ever intelligent and wise girlfriend, this image has given us a “false impression of the planet.” What the heck does that even mean? Does it mean that this “perfect” image has comforted us with the pretense that everything will be okay? Is that what she means? Ugh I’m so confused!
