I Am because You Are

This was my favorite tile of the ones we saw while taking the tour of Lehman’s art pieces. It was a very striking quote to me, because in these simple five words, the whole of human purpose is expressed. We exist solely for the acknowledgment and approval of others. It’s such a sweet quote to me because it expresses the selfless idea, that we are, for the sake of those we love; that everything we do is for others. And I think if everyone remembered this idea, we would all work a little harder for the betterment in the lives of our fellow earthly inhabitants. If we remembered this idea then those days, that we feel as though we are lost and without hope, would decrease significantly, if not cease to exist completely. Because we are found in the desperate arms of those latching on to us for support, and hope is created wherever there is a dream. And I think it’s an absolute beautiful philosophy to live and carry out our lives according to the needs of others, and dream of serving those around us.
