Trust is a fragile thing
I remember this place. Noria and I played here when we were much younger. Those were simpler times, but why are we here? Where is she taking me. Did she just push her hand through the ceiling of this cave? What the hell?!
The air around me is getting thicker, cooler, almost…humid? But that’s impossible, because humidity implies…..WATER! Again, what the hell?! The sound of it is no longer gentle, but roaring in my ears. A hidden spring inside the fell. So this is Noria’s secret…This is what she has kept from me? Why she has retracted into herself? How could she keep such a thing to herself? Especially when she has seen the desperation and pitiful circumstances the rest of us have been living in. And she is here in her Tea Master house with her own supply of water. What a selfish [insert expletive here]!

As Noria is showing Sanja the spring, I figured that something similar is what is going on in Sanja’s head. Self preservation has made people do terrible things, so my question is, can we trust Sanja? I know this is Noria’s best friend, but the well being of her family is hanging in the balance and when it comes down to it, if an official asks for information, who do you think Sanja will choose? I comprehend Noria’s motivation for showing Sanja the spring, she wants her to know that Noria sacrificing her ration of water is of no detriment to her. But Sanja’s reaction is appropriate, and I don’t think their relationship will ever be the same.
