Whoa
Seriously, can I just go back right now? That was simply amazing, mind blowing and overwhelming.
To be completely honest, I was a little skeptical at first. The first half was simple, but nothing excited me too much except for the last performance of Neue Suite. I found myself searching for any mistakes in the choreography and there was also an old man in front of me that was obnoxiously snoring.
And then… the second half came. And my my my. All I can say is “perfection.” I was gladly anticipating the AP15 performance and it was even better than I imagined. They pulled out moves that had the audience in awe and in shock. I was surprised the man didn’t break her neck when he jumped on her face! But it was all so beautiful. And then, Minus 16 provided the absolutely gorgeous conclusion. The performer that started off dancing in front of the curtain was hilarious and the fact that he reminded me of myself was amazing. He pulled out some clever moves that had me hysterical. It’s as if he wasn’t afraid to embarrass himself. I loved it all. And then the actual Alvin Alley performance was great. The music was so intense and foreign. I even realized that every time the song restarted they added a new dance move and did the entire routine over with that new move. That was phenomenal. I felt as if I could just join. And that’s why I was hoping they would pick me to dance on stage with them, but unfortunately not.
