WOW

It was first time for me to view dance performance. I once watched musical “Lion King” when I first came to USA. The dance performance is slightly different to musical. While musical focuses on dance as well as sing parts, ballet and modern dance only focus on movement and performance. As I prepared for dance presentation, I could notice how ballet and modern dance are different and similar. They both represent their feeling on their movement and body. For ballet, performers wore ballet shoes and tight costumes. They represented feeling such as passion and dream. Their costume colors matched with the feeling that they wanted to show to audiences. Red for passion, purple for dreaming, black for active motion and strong movement. I really liked the red couple because they look passionate and romantic. Their hands movement were delicate and they ended spinning over an over again. Ballet was awesome performance but I was little sleepy ( I had morning classes today). But as modern dance started, it was really captivated my eyes. The first performance of modern dance was really professional.

I was wondering the meaning of the 16 men dancing performance. They were all taking off their clothes at the end, and the guy at the end, who was falling down on the floor, was the only person who still wore his clothes. I could figure out what ballet dances wanted to express their feelings, but not in modern dance. Their facial expression was stronger than ballet dancers do and have more behind meaning more complex and sophisticated. Is there anybody can tell the behind meaning of the dance?

My favorite part was the old lady who left the stage at the end. In the first time, I thought the people, who were on the stage, were also dancer. I thought it was not an instant event but a prepared event, but it was just happened without telling them. It was AWESOME. They actually danced very well. Audiences and dancers enjoyed their dancing together. It was really awesome, because it was not a just event in Korea. That is why I love this country “USA” and these people “AMERICANS”. I really enjoyed this dance performance alotttttttt.
