Faith in our doom, one step at a time.
The longer I take this course, the less faith I have in a hopeful ending.
Water is crucial for human existence and as we see it now, its abundant to us and we don’t think much of it. There are thousands upon thousands of countries that don’t get water and I think we sometimes forget that. We forget that there are places in the world that treat water the way its treated in this book. Its valuable, its crucial, but its also extremely scarce. It seems so foreign in this book, but there are places who actually live this way now.
The idea that people can be executed because of water seems so ridiculous and so far fetched. But truthfully, we’re not that far off. We’re already losing a lot of out fresh water sources from melting glaciers and its diffusion into the sea. We’re already increasing the acidity of our bodies of water from all the CO2. We’re already facing droughts and the lack of clean water all over the world. Its not as foreign as we’d like to believe.
Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean its not happening.
