Would you like a cup of tea?
Dancers wearing assortments of blue, orange, red bowed down gracefully with smiles on their flushed faces, receiving praises for years of dedication to dancing and sore feet. Then the red curtains entrapped the stage. I looked at some of my classmates with eyes wide with amazement and sheer enjoyment, exclaiming how creative the choreography was! But we were hushed silent by a man, wearing the classic suit and tie similar to the bellhops of a hotel, waiting to be noticed.
Music dating back to the time of Frank Sinatra was playing with its trademark saxophones along with the galloping notes of the piano. The bellhop was feeling the jive, slowly getting down and moving his hips. He would then stop in embarrassment and surely gain back his composure. Nope! He started to twirl across the stage and twist his body causing giggles and hearty laughter from the audience. His dancing was calling and asking me, “Would you like a cup of tea and crumpets?” I respond by saying, “Deary… that would be lovely!”
