Dissatisfied

I’m so distraught. There are so many questions that are left unanswered. What did the woman from the CDs know and what malicious activities were the military committing? Did Sanja actually work with the military to expose Noria’s secret spring? Did Noria’s mother actually die? Why has this author chose to leave us wondering? The world may never know.

But at least the epilogue answered one of those questions: Sanja did not “snitch.” Instead, she left Noria and even though it was for an understandable reason, you can’t help but to feel bad for Noria. I’m really disappointed because I wanted to see Noria and Sanja’s initial exploration plan go into action. They didn’t even get to start it. In the process, Noria lost all her food and was held in captivity. It was sad to see how her former classmate was actually contemplating whether or not he should’ve slashed her face. But Noria is overall a strong girl and has been throughout the entire novel. I’m proud of her and she has made this read absolutely enjoyable.

The ironic part is that I accidentally drenched this novel in hot water so I read the entire third section as it was soaking wet. This will truly be a Memory of Water.
