I’m not sure how to feel…

All I know right now is that I am extremely upset over the ending of this book. I usually get emotionally invested in the characters and “the feels” take over. But honestly? I hate Taro with a fiery passion. Noria should have gone to the Deadwood to find Sanja, and Sanja shouldn’t have gone there from the jump. What she should have done, was grabbed Noria and they should have left right then and there. But NOOOOOo, they had to be oblivious to the obvious and Noria had to die. I think that is what I am most upset about. That the main character, the heroine in this novel, has died. DIED!!! There is no better way to mess with my emotions than to kill off the one character I like. And Emmi Itaranta did just that, and to that I say, “boo you!”

I really just want to scream about this ending!

However, Noria was poetic even up to her death. She had accepted her fate and was perfectly okay with it. I mean the quote goes, “don’t go softly…” But she did just that, and it was beautiful and powerful. In the end, nobody had any control over her, other than her. She had left her mark, and stayed uncorrupted. I just can’t believe it’s over. What happens now? Do Sanja and the mother, Lian, go to the lost lands? Or do they return to the Tea House to claim Noria’s body (if there is one)? I have so many questions!!!
