Memory of Noria

I can’t believe the book ended like this. It is so sad that Noria is all by herself and dying– I would have gone crazy. It really shows her strong character. I was so scared that Sanja was taken away, but it gives me hope that she found Noria’s mother at the university. Hopefully, she will be able to save Noria from her confinement. Furthermore, perhaps Noria’s mother and Sanja will be able to solve the mystery. The author purposely created a serious, ominous tone, but I am certain that good will prevail. However, what should they do first– save Noria or solve the mystery? They will be powerless without answers or proof. I’m just glad Xinjing was not under attack and that there is hope for everyone. It was truly a depressing story!

The most intense part was when Noria stepped out of her house and tested her boundaries. I thought she would die. But thank goodness, they needed her for military use. It was also devastating to find out that the helicarriage was gone. It was like a nightmare; so heartbreaking. It was very funny and ironic, though. In any other fairytale-like novel, the ending would have been happy and she would have saved the day, but the author did not want to create another Hunger Games or Harry Potter fandom. The author wanted to bring attention to the seriousness of the issue of climate change. Not everything is fun and games. Sometimes, there is no happy ending.
