Finally

As we close this reading, Squarzoni warns the reader and himself about the upcoming struggles that will be faced, still stressing the fact that a lot of time has been lost but we should still try.

The last thing I can take from this graphic memoir is Earth Overshoot Day. Squarzoni’s fiance informs him about this calculation made every year about when global consumption exceeds the renewable resources of the planet and begins to tap into the reserves needed for the coming years. The day has been pushed back as the years pass. In 1996, it was in November. In 2007, it was October 6th. And now , it’s around August 20th. This is just bad. Let’s just hope we can fix what we got ourselves into.
