One of the Best Events of this Seminar

The Japanese Tea Ceremony was like a beautiful dream that passed so quickly that I didn’t even get the chance to enjoy it completely. It was short, unique and beautifully organized. Everything had a meaning to it, even the simple wooden architecture that didn’t look New York from any angle. Urasenke is really a secret gem in NYC where Japan is hidden away in a beautiful small building. It was such an amazing experience to get to see and participate in Japanese tea ceremony here. The little sweet that is eaten before the tea was just a simple cookie but I wanted more of it because it was unique and tasty.

The tea was perfect.

The staff was really knowledgeable and at the same time patient with people like us who are totally new to tea ceremony. I thought our tea master is going to be a strict, disciplined man like Noria’s father but he was chill and cracked jokes too which completely changed the image of a tea master in my mind. He encouraged questions and was totally open to any question. I liked how he shared his experience with us and talked about his favorite part of the ceremony, which was simply seeing people enjoy tea. This event made me realize that although I have been a tea drinker for my whole life, but I have never enjoyed tea like I did that day at Urasenke. Moreover, I really didn’t expect them to know about “Memory of Water” but it was really cool to know that they were aware of the book we read which introduced us to the unique idea of tea ceremonies.
