Sorry Marty Mcfly
When you’re taking a test and you realized that you made a mistake on question 23 because the answer is actually C and not A, you can go back and change it.
When you’re writing an essay for that Honors English class the night before its due and you write a typo, there’s a backspace button that allows you to go back and change it.
When you go to the department store and buy those amazing Steve Madden boots that are totally on trend right now but realize you bought the wrong size, you can always go back to exchange it and fix the problem.
When you’re on your way to work and forget your unlimited metro card at home, you can walk home and pick it and fix the problem.
When we’re exponentially increasing the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere; when we’re increasing air pollution because we’d rather drive there than ride the train;
when we’re digging up and wasting fossil fuels that are not renewable;
when we’re causing continental sized ice caps to melt at unimaginable rates per year;
when we’re making the world go into turmoil…
We won’t have that luxury to go back and fix it. Like Squarzoni says, we’ll wish we could go back and re-do our mistakes and change it all.
Sorry Marty Mcfly but it doesn’t work that way.
