Nothing is good enough! UGH!

It seems that there is a problem with every solution to climate change and efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Solar and wind power would not suffice to meet our “needs”, Hydroelectric power could pose big problems with flooding of fertile lands and such, Biofuel would require more energy to generate than it actually gives off. Nuclear energy results in minimal carbon emissions but it is only useful in creating electric energy (oh and not to mention that a small mishap in a nuclear plant could result in our children coming out with lobster hands and one eye!). It is very complex indeed trying to find a solution to our depleting resources, climate change and the economic development issue. There was a very potent point made in this section, we keep trying to find solutions to these problems but at the same time we give nothing in return (we want to have it all). It seems simply impossible to solve all of these problems and continue with our rates of consumption. The only viable, feasible and sensible way to solve these problems is energy efficiency. Its something easier said than done though because we have gotten away with our wastefulness for so long its like trying to teach an old dog new tricks, its very labor intensive trying to change our ways, but maybe with the proper incentives we can learn new tricks too. What treats would make us want to learn new tricks???
