Struggling For Breathe
The beginning of this passage, Hurricane Katrina, was terrifying. A scared child’s eyes told of despair and loss, senior citizens struggled for breathe (we know they will inevitably die, an what a horrid way to go), a woman screams, praying to the heavens and is left unheard, and a dying woman searched the eyes of her lover one last time. I wonder if the end of our world will transpire like this. Will politicians transform into ostriches, burying their heads into the sand? Will morality go out the window? Will the earth be covered in our decaying bodies, humanity’s last breath squeezed out in a huff?
