“Don’t Silence Us! Hope is Not a Plan!”

As soon as I saw the phrases “Don’t Silence Us!” and “Hope is Not a Plan!” on page 400-401, I immediately thought of how relevant this is to Climate Change. I feel as though climate change has been ‘silenced’ in the sense that people refuse to hear the consequences and effects it may lead to if we do not alter our source of energy to a more natural one. We cannot just “hope” that everything will turn alright without actually doing some sort of action to prevent the progression of climate change. I think we actually need a physical plan. Something we, as a planet, can come in union to create a resolution to our slowly dying planet. This may very well include the shift to natural gases as Squarzoni mentions. Don’t silence those who inform us about climate change, silence the TV, the Iphone, the everyday cars trips, and lets actually create a plan that we can carry out.
