No More Sugarcoating

Especially when we are young, adults sugarcoat many things for us. “Kids don’t have to know everything. Kids need to learn that when they grow up.” They say. Maybe, all of us are to used to that: Sugarcoating the stories that will hurt us and require us to change in order to just live in a fantasy world where everyone ignores the problem.

Squarzoni indirectly tells us that it’s time to take off that sugarcoat from our lips. Politics often reject global warming. However, even when it accepts global warming, it sugarcoats what we need to do; it only tells us that we need new technologies that will save us from this distressing problem so that we don’t have to worry about it anymore. But, that’s not the truth. We also have to change our lifestyle to fit in to the plan to reduce the effects of global warming.

It requires some courage and determination to really act on the issue. I doubt that I can do it. But, it’s good to be reminded again that this issue is not something that should be overlooked.
