Apocalyptic atmosphere

To be quite honest, this performance was very powerful. At times, it even scared me. I was a bit disturbed at first by the nudity, but I remembered from my anthropology class that in certain cultures, such as the Samoans, it was normal to be dancing nude as certain movements are expressed more efficiently when the body is bare. I think was ‘scared’ me was the ominous music and the constant shouts of the woman. I tried to relate it back to climate change and the only association I could form was through an apocalyptic atmosphere that I felt watching the performance. I know the performance was called “Birds with Skymirrors”, but I was not quite sure what the meaning of the image of the bird was behind the dancers. I also found it fascinating how the woman was able to open her eyes so widely without constantly blinking, as well as the way the men scurried synchronically on and off the stage.
