Let’s put a price on the denial of Climate Change by our politicians!

Although Al Gore’s article “The turning point” is really long, I liked it because unlike Squarzoni’s Climate Changed, it does not leave us completely hopeless but it encourages us to keep improving our behavior regarding the use of natural resources to save our planet. He doesn’t deny the fact that we ARE late in taking a step to stop the damage and damage has already been done but we are still able to mollify the effects of climate change and prevent future damage to our Earth.

The main highlight of this article is the replacement of the use of fossil fuels like gas,oil and coal by the increasing use of renewable resources like solar and wind energy. Al Gore shares information about the consequences of climate change and most of them are very similar to the ones described by Squarzoni like increased hurricanes, storms and drought but what made this article more interesting is that Al Gore demands active participation from the citizens as “along with putting a price on carbon, we should also put a price on the denial of climate change by our politicians.” He encourages us to make reforms to prevent damage to our Earth not only by adopting to the use of renewables but also by supporting the right candidates to hold authority because it is very necessary that our politicians should also be as determinant in their approach to deal with climate change as we are.

Another thing I really liked about this article is the fact that a bureaucrat like Al Gore has written this type of article which would be expected to be written by a climate activist and this is a great initiative as he argues in favor of incorporating the use of renewables and eliminating the excessive use of natural resources which is not what most of the politicians would want.
