Real Talk
I’m really glad that Squarzoni ended this book with the reality. He acknowledges and knows perfectly what the real situation is right now. It is true that we are not gonna choose to enter the “door” as Squarzoni mentioned. I agree with this particular section. We are too comfortable with what we have now. Personally, I wouldn’t want to give up anything for a seemingly far-away-from-now problem. I know I educated myself with the book and information in class, but in my daily life I’m still driving, planning for where to go on a trip on my next vacation, and consuming fast food once in a while.
However, this question of ending wasn’t pointless. As he says, it shows that we care. We just have to care enough to act on it now. I don’t know what that would be like. I don’t know if we’re gonna pick that “door” or not. I hope we do.
We never know. I think that’s one thing I learned in life. I swore and promised many things with the firm belief that I won’t break them. But, I always see myself contradicting my beliefs and promises. There’s no definite. There’s no NEVER. There’s no EVER. We have to be in the future to know the future. So, there’s still hope. The story didn’t end yet.
