Well Wrapped Up
When I heard that our Macaulay seminar’s topic will be about the global warming, I can say I was pretty shocked. I haven’t had a chance in a class before this year to talk about a controversial matter. I feel like what I learned was mostly memorizing the materials, such as memorizing the periodic table, studying about what happened in the past in a Social Studies class, and talking about a book from a few hundred years ago. But, this very phenomenon, global warming, is a current issue; it is highly discussed among the world.
From the start of this class to the end, I’ve collected and learned many facts, much information, and some solutions to the climate change. Throughout the course, I cannot deny that I felt hopeless sometimes because of the extreme consequences we will earn if we continue to live the same way. However, Al Gore provides us a sense of hope as Squarzoni did in his book. There are still solutions. There are still the “door” waiting for us.
I hope to think that the climate change will be one past event that happened but overcome by collaborative support throughout the world. As Al Gore mentioned the Martin Luther King Jr.’s quote, “no lie can live forever.” Even though there are many objections and doubts that this issue embodies, I am hopeful for the future that will be restored by humanity. Well, now my question of how long this would take is answered.
“How long? Not long.”
