The Al Gore piece was extremely long and informative. I remember seeing a video of his presentation about climate change, which scared me greatly, but I thought he was exaggerating because it sounded ridiculous. Now that I have learned much about the subject, I am able to accept the reality of the environment as well as Al Gore’s teaching. For years, people like him have been working to achieve progressive goals and no one has done anything until now. There are just so many facts to take in, but that’s exactly the point. It should overwhelm us to see what we are doing to our home. The damage is done, and we like to be blinded for comfort.

The difference between taking in information then and information now is that I am more mature to actually understand the situation. I hope the public is, too. It shouldn’t be an excuse that we can be ignorant because it is too vulgar or depressing. If we can deal with violence and MMA fights, we can certainly deal with the effects of our own actions. Al Gore is an example of someone using his blessings and talents to work for a moral objective.
