I’ve never actually been to the opera so I’m not completely sure what to expect.  The only opera I’ve seen is the Chinese Opera which is very dramatic and theatrical.  They have a face covered in makeup– white base with pink, red, and black eye makeup that extends all the way to the eyebrow.  While I don’t expect the performers to come out in the same attire, I imagine it to be just as dramatic.

I’ll be honest, I MIGHT fall asleep and I MIGHT be bored out of my mind.  I have a passion for music and I love Broadway shows and musicals.  But opera to me is just…boring.  Even though Ann Patchett’s attitude toward opera changed for the better, I still have my doubts.  Despite my view on opera, as a singer myself, I’m excited to see the technique and musicality of these singers.

 

I’m not sure what to expect.
