…Refreshing

I found this article to be very refreshing. The way Patchett writes is as though she is really having an extended conversation with the reader. I enjoy how personal, friendly, and close she seems to be. Like Patchett if I enter something new and don’t know anything about it chances are I probably won’t enjoy it, or even try to understand it.

It is pretty impressing how she actually researched Opera, and what’s more? Fell in love with it. I can say the same for myself, but it makes me kind of excited to see the opera and actually learn more about it. I have never seen an opera, and I know next to nothing about them. Hearing about Patchett’s “journey” to loving Opera made me think that if I am open to a new experience, who knows? I would actually really enjoy it.
