First time at an opera……..Interesting.

I’ve got to admit after two finals on the same day I was not so excited about going to the opera (I basically had to drag myself there) but all in all it was definitely worth the trip. This was actually the first time I had gone inside the Lincoln center opera house and it is just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. The performance started off a bit slow and I had to get used to looking at the performers and trying to read the prompt on the small screen but right after the intermission I was slightly more assimilated to the whole experience and it became easier to sit back and enjoy the performance. I have yet to become a fan of the opera because I just don’t find it to be particularly appealing, but it was definitely a new and unique experience that I’m glad I had a chance to partake in. In hindsight it was actually the perfect way to end the semester for me, sitting back and enjoying a new experience in the company of my classmates was really nice. While browsing through the opera shop I saw a DVD of Shakespeare’s Hamlet and Macbeth as an opera performance….hmmm I might want to go to those operas as well.
