The old lady in red stole the show

That woman was FIERCE!!!! You know who I’m talking about. The old lady that was the last one to leave the stage. She clearly knew how to tango, or salsa? Whatever. The point is she was AWESOME! I knew they were going to bring people up on stage, but I wasn’t sure how well that would work out. One of the Alvin Ailey dancers was staring at me quite intensely. I was weirded out, but I think that was the point, they were supposed to be intense. But honestly, dude needed to avert his attention to someone else.

It was a really great show. The whole time my sister and I were making sure the dancers’ toes were pointed and that their feet weren’t sickled. We watch too much Dance Moms. But it was definitely an experience and something I would love to do again.

I was really trying to figure out what the story was behind the first Minus 16 dance. The one guy at the end always ended up on the floor, but by the conclusion of the dance he was the only one with clothes on. The intro talked about the fine line between insanity and sanity, and from their attire I want to assume they are business people. The song they are singing (chanting?) is in hebrew (yiddish?). It’s a passover song that talks about God being the one and only. Possible theme: The one man at the end still believes in God even though he has been thrown to the ground multiple times and that is why he hasn’t “lost everything” by the end of the dance. Maybe I’m overthinking it. It was the dance that I was looking forward to the most.
