Rising up with the Human Voice

I love music. A lot. So when Ann Patchett talks about the the “cartoon catalogue of emotions” she feels when she finally got into opera. I read that and I was like OMG I FEEL LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME!!! I think the relation to her feelings on baseball was a beautiful analogy. I could totally relate to that because I hate baseball, nine innings of men in tight pants spitting and running across a field is not my idea of a good time.

I don’t really know what else to say other than her diction is fantastic. All of the composers she mentioned I knew because of the research my group and I did on Opera. So when she was dropping names I’m like I know him! or OOOO I know about that!!
